My role with Goyo Travel was both in Mongolia and in their UK Head Office.  My time working in the Mongolian office was a truly amazing experience and provided me with a deep understanding and appreciation for working with a team from an entirely different culture.  Goyo Travel provides ‘bucket list’ experiential and adventure holidays and events on both a bespoke and group basis.  During my time with Goyo Travel I looked after total client management and care; from point of enquiry, bespoke adventure planning, sales, invoicing, liaising with destination management companies, pre-departure information and aftercare. 

 

The key transferable skill I will take forward with me is mainly, but not exclusively, relating to working with local coordinators and suppliers to ensure that every detail of the trip, which in this case is essentially the brief, was executed to the highest standard.  This required an exacting level of communication as well as an openness to the potential for last-minute changes which are to be expected when working in one of the most remote and inhospitable regions of the world.  I feel this role has equipped me with a dynamic and empathetic approach to work within the travel and events sector ensuring that Plan A should run without a hitch but also that I am unflappable when Plan B needs to take over.
